TOPIC: PLAGIARISM
Dear Sirs:
This page by “Chuck” on making Root Beer and Ginger Ale, http://hubpages.com/hub/How_to_Brew_Root_Beer_and_Ginger_Ale, is a plagiarized copy of my Root Beer Page AND my Ginger Ale pages. The process and wording he presents are nearly identical to my pages. I ask that you compare his posted page with my root beer page which I posted in 1996:
http://biology.clc.uc.edu/fankhauser/Cheese/ROOTBEER_Jn0.htm.
I have communicated with “Chuck,” and he (rudely) refused to give
credit to my page as the
original source, or to include a link to my page as the source. I
posted a question about the source of his
recipe on his page, and he deleted it. He claims to be a college
administrator and part time instructor, so I would think he is
familiar with the ethics of plagiarism.
Last year, I included a note on my website pointing out his
plagiarism of my page and included a link to his
offending page. I have received supportive emails from viewers who
cannot believe that the
plagiarism is so blatant. This plagiarism reflects negatively on the
integrity of
your "Hubpages" site and deserves correction. Thank you for your
attention to this problem. I will be happy to report on progress
at correcting this problem on my webpage.
Thank you for attending to this problem. I look forward to hearing from you.
