A map of South Maple Creek was compiled using Mapping protocol of outside parameter of South Maple Creek Woods (Carter, 2005).
A soil sample from the southeast bank of South Maple Creek was collected. The sample was dried using a standard gas oven, on low temperature, on a baking sheet until dry to the touch and light in colour. Subjected analysis was performed to determine soil type, mechanical analysis was carried out, and a chemical analysis was performed on the sample using Soil Analysis protocols (Carter, 2005).
Random tree pair analysis was conducted on six pairs of trees in side of the South Maple Creek forest to measure tree type, size, frequency of trees in the area following Random Tree Analysis protocol (Carter, 2005)
Fauna sampling was carried out in and around South Maple Creek and West Side North Pond. Flora sampling was carried out on the South East side of South Maple Creek. Flora and Fauna protocols were followed in all sampling and data collection processes (Carter, 2005).
